Barcelona

Walking the old city and gothic section

sunny

We arrived this morning after what seemed an eternity on planes and in airports. It is warm and humid, a big change from Southern California. We are rather sleep deprived but determined to keep moving and adjust to local time as quickly as possible. We walked all over the old city Gothic section today. We saw the Barcelona Cathedral, the museum of Barcelona (with amazing unearthed sections of the Roman city in an archeological dig), and the Rambla with it's human statues and tons of people. We had a terrible lunch, and then an amazing dinner at an Italian Restorante in a lovely square near the Mediterranean coast. After dinner we wandered up the Rambla (a street filled with people enjoying wandering in Barcelona with music, street art and entertainment), and sped for gelato (yummy!) en route to our hotel.
